Automatic Addressable Fire Alarm Systems

PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Fire Alarm System Supply and Commissioning – Wyeth Nutrition Dryer 4 and 5 – with installation by Suir Engineering

CUSTOMER REQUIREMENTS
Supply and commission an automatic addressable fire alarm system, complete with Listec Heat Detection System and Fire Beam Detection units.
Network new fire alarm control panels onto the plants existing fire alarm network, while allowing the existing system to function in normal operation.
Commission the detection system to an L1 Category in accordance with I.S. 3218 – 2013

OVERCOMING CHALLENGES
The new system had to be installed and commissioned in a fully operational food processing plant, while retaining the functionality of the existing fire alarm. On completion of the installation and commissioning of the new fire alarm system, the new system operated in parallel with the existing system on “soak”. On completion of the soak time period the old fire alarm system was then de-commissioned.

CUSTOMER SATISFACTION
The completion of the project within the given timelines and budgets was a major source of customer satisfaction. The care shown by the installation and commissioning teams while working in such a high hygienic environment was also applauded. Awareness of health and hygiene requirements insured a safe completion of the project
