Our Fire Security Projects

Take a look at some of our recent fire security projects, giving you an ideal of the type of services and individual service we offer at PDSL.

Kostal Ireland, Mallow

Prestige were chosen for this project by Kostal from a list of potential suppliers, including the existing maintenance provider. Several factors contributed to our successful bid for this project:

  • Cost - We provided a cost effective solution without having an effect on the quality and management of the project
  • Support Network - We provide a 24/7 on call service and our team of experienced engineers are located within an hour of the site
  • Technology - The existing closed protocol system was replaced with a new Morley IAS ZxSe & Apollo system complimented by a Visualeyes graphics package

Kostal Ireland, Abbeyfeale

Following on from the successful implementation of a full fire alarm upgrade at the Mallow plant, Prestige were asked to tender for a similar upgrade at the Abbeyfeale plant. Again, we were successful in our bid for several reasons:

  • Existing Relationship - Having completed the previous upgrade and following two years of maintenance in the mallow plant, our client knew that we could be depended upon to deliver what was expected

St. Vincent's Centre, Lisnagry

Prestige were asked to submit a proposal for the upgrade of the fire alarm system in Blocks 1 & 2 of the main building. The scope was to increase the coverage of the areas to an L1 category, in line with IS3218:2013. The project was looked after from the preliminary site meetings, right through to completion. The project consisted of the following:

  • Meeting with the client and discussing their requirements
  • Identifying areas that had either inadequate or no fire detection coverage
  • Installation of all cabling, detection devices, sounders, etc.
  • Commissioning and testing of the new devices
  • Submitting all relevant paperwork to the client - Drawings, Zone Charts, Certificates

Analog Devices, Limerick

Following discussions between Prestige and Analog Devices' EHS & Facilities Departments, it was decided to upgrade the current system of ten networked Morley IAS ZX panels. This would allow new programming features and full support of Apollo's range of Discovery detection devices. As part of this, a new control panel was also to be installed, along with a Visualeyes graphics sytem.  The project scope consisted of several key aspects:

  • Minimising downtime of the fire alarm system by pre-planning the changeover from old to new
  • Writing new programs for the new software
  • Upgrading the CPU cards and software chips to the latest versions
  • Transferring the new programs into the new panels
  • Installation of a new "sub-master" control panel to monitor the production areas of the main building
  • Testing of the new panels and programs
  • Installation and testing of the Visualeyes graphics software
  • Issuing of detailed paperwork - Site drawings, device lists, certification, etc.
